The Razer Blade 15 Gaming Laptop (2022) is the new version of the gaming laptop from the famous gaming brand, Razer — known for their high-performing products. In this review, I’ll give you all the details about the computer’s specs, performance, and whether this laptop is worth a look.
Razer’s latest laptop version, the Razer Blade 15 gaming laptop, offers a configuration for the most demanding players to run the latest AAA games.
Delivered with the latest mobile processor model from Intel Alder Lake and DDR6 RAM, this laptop also includes Nvidia RTX 30x graphics cards, enough to play the most demanding games and a significant improvement over the 2021 version. Construction and design
For a gaming computer, the Razer Blade 15 is rather understated. Adorned with a black anodized aluminum dress, it does not have a particularly remarkable design. Only the luminescent green lighting of the three snakes brand logo could tell the tale. The build quality is impeccable, despite a matte chassis that retains fingerprints.
The advantage of the Blade 15 range of laptops is its lightness and finesse, and it is no exception with this new 15-inch model. With only 1.7 cm thickness and a weight of 2 kg, it is easy to transport in a medium-sized bag, despite the large size of its 230W charger.
The keyboard is backlit, and it is pleasant to use. The keyboard’s lighting style is fully customizable with the included Razer Synapse software. On the sides of the laptop, you will find two good-quality speakers with THX Spatial Audio technology.
The touchpad is perfectly integrated into the chassis and is precise and pleasant under the fingers.
In terms of ports, the Razer Blade 15 has 1 Thunderbolt 4 port (USB-C), 2 x USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (15W), 3 x USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, 1 Jack/Mic port, an HDMI port, and an SD card reader. Overall, the included connectivity is suitable for a lot of use, both for gaming and the most creative.
I can also count on the presence of WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. But I don’t like the absence of a fingerprint sensor. The webcam located above has a resolution of 1080p and generally good quality. It is also compatible with Windows Hello, allowing facial recognition to unlock the computer.

Screen
The Razer Blade 15 offers two screen configurations for the same price. On one side, a 15.6-inch QHD panel (2560×1440 pixels), with a refresh rate of 240 Hz, and on the other, a Full HD panel (1920×1080) with a refresh rate of 360 Hz.
The screen has good brightness and good color rendering. The space above where the internal camera is located is small enough to remain discreet and wide enough to open and close the screen without dirtying the panel.
Performance
Again, several versions of the Blade 15 are offered, ranging from the GeForce RTX 3060 to the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti on the graphics card side and from the Core i7-12800H to the Core i9-12900H on the processor side. The amount of RAM varies from 16 to 32 GB, and the storage ranges from 512 GB to 1 TB in SSD.
The presence of a 12th generation Core i7 is, in any case, the guarantee of having excellent performance in terms of productivity. Remember that this Core i7-12800H has 14 cores (6 “performance” cores and 8 “efficiency” cores), with a maximum frequency of 4.8 GHz. Coupled with 16 or even 32 GB of RAM, you will have no problem working on heavy tasks, Photo editing, editing, large Excel files, encoding, and decoding. It’s a great laptop dedicated to productivity.
On the video game side, the results are good but could have been even better. The GeForce RTX 3070 Ti (8GB) inside has a TGP (Total Graphic Power) of 110 watts, which is still pretty low compared to other models on the market. Lower TGP means less GPU operating speed and slightly lower performance.
However, gaming performance still is pretty good. But you are far from what an RTX 3070 Ti for desktop PCs offers. Here, playing all recent games at 1080p will not be a problem (and fortunately), and 1440p remains viable, even if it will be necessary to make some graphic concessions on more demanding games. Of course, the advantage of a GeForce RTX 3070 Ti graphics card is to take advantage of Nvidia’s own technologies, such as DLSS, which seriously boosts in-game FPS.
This Razer Blade 15 gaming laptop 2022 edition is, therefore a high-performance and ultra-versatile laptop PC, but I would not complain about a slight boost in graphics power.

Heating and noise
The cooling system of the Razer Blade 15 proves to be very efficient and allows the laptop to display temperatures in the full load that are quite correct, but also ventilation that I hear little. Fan noise tweaks via the Razer Synapse app, which remains a model of clarity and smoothness.
Battery
This Razer Blade 15 2022 is equipped with an 80 Wh battery and a 230W charger. On the software side, it benefits from Nvidia’s “Advanced Optimus” function, which allows on-the-fly and automatic switching between the GeForce RTX graphics card and the less greedy Intel iGPU. You can also easily switch from 360Hz to 60Hz in Synapse’s options, which saves you a bit of battery life.
Conclusion
The Razer Blade 15 (2022) is worth considering if you need a capable laptop that can play the latest AAA games in good quality. In terms of performance, there is no doubt that you will find what you are looking for; its aesthetics and manufacture are robust enough for on-the-go use.
On the other hand, if you have a limited budget and cannot afford the higher-echelon computer configurations, you should consider another model of laptop, because the price for the performance will not be very attractive.
