Where can you get the Razer Blade 17 Laptop?
You can get this gaming laptop on Amazon for $3,199.99 or on the Razer website for $3,399.99.
Laptop Design
The Razer Blade 17 comes with a matte black aluminum chassis. It has no unnecessary designs on the exterior, featuring a sleek look. Although the body still shows fingerprint smudges, there is an extra coating that makes them less obvious.
When compared to less powerful gaming laptops, it is very slim, measuring only 0.75 inches. The bezels are also quite small, despite housing a 1080p webcam. All these make the laptop very compact.
The laptop has a sturdy build, with all the parts made of high-quality materials. The hinges are quite solid and allow you to bend the screen to whatever angle you want.
The Blade 17 comes with a wide selection of ports. It has three USB-A ports, two Thunderbolt USB-C ports, one Ethernet port, one HDMI port, one SD card slot, and a power port. These allow you to be able to use a wide variety of cables for work and gaming.
Despite the size, it fits into your standard laptop bag. At 2.75 kg (6lb), it might be too heavy to carry around for long periods of time.
Gaming Performance
The Razer Blade 17 performs excellently when used for gaming. For a better gaming experience, it comes fitted with a full 4K screen, which is not exactly common amongst gaming laptops. Using the 4K settings at the Nvidia-recommended settings makes the laptop handle any game comfortably above 30 fps, which is the minimum frame rate for modern games.
You can also tweak the settings to 4K/60 fps for games that have intense battle scenes. Still, the Blade 17 performs excellently without lagging or overheating.

Productivity Performance
With its 32GB of DDR5 RAM, the Razer Blade 17 is able to deal effortlessly with the tasks thrown at it. Even more impressive is the fact that no matter the number of tasks it is handling, it still remains cool and silent. It does not overheat at all and requires no cooling pads even during heavy usage.
Display
The Razer Blade 17 has an impressive 17.2-inch QHD display. The screen measures 2560 × 1600, has a 16:9 aspect ratio and a 240Hz refresh rate. This gives pictures a cinematic quality when gaming and watching movies.
Keyboard and Touchpad
The keyboard feels good when typing. It has RGB lighting that can be customized with the use of the Synapse software. However, because the power button is now on the keyboard, it can feel a bit cramped.
The touchpad, on the other hand, is large, with dimensions of 5.1 × 3.1 inches. It is made of glass, which gives it a nice feel while being used.
Audio
All the Razer Blade models use THX Spatial Audio. This is a 7.1 surround sound type created by Razer’s THX for their laptops. It has a dedicated app which contains presets for gaming, music, movies, voice, and equalizer.
Despite its dual speaker design, the Blade 17 has average sound quality. While the vocals and guitars are clear enough, they don’t provide enough feedback for the bass.
Battery
The battery life on the Blade 17 is really poor. All the features on the laptop draw large amounts of power, so if you want to use it on the go, you will have to take your power brick with you.
It has a 280W power brick that supports USB-C charging as well. However, it has a maximum rating of 54W to top up the battery juice while in sleep mode or switched off.
Webcam
Like the earlier versions of the Razer Blade laptops, it has a 1080p webcam, which is an upgrade from the usual 720p on most gaming laptops. This provides HD quality for streams and virtual meetings. The webcam is quite sensitive to light, and so, you might not be able to capture anything in bright lights.
Final Thoughts
The Razer Blade 17 is a jack-of-all-trades because it has the features to be able to carry out any task. It is an excellent laptop for gamers, creatives, and as a portable workstation. In terms of design, it cuts out the excessive gaming designs and instead goes for a sleek one that allows it to blend into office settings.
It also has a full 4K screen, which is rare amongst gaming laptops. The laptop provides beautiful visuals and excellent performance, which makes it suitable for both work and play. So, if you are looking for an incredibly powerful unit that will handle all tasks, then the Razer Blade 17 is the dream device.
